Shopping Haul

It's dangerously rare for me to go to the mall and come home empty-handed. That's why I try to limit my visits to the mall to emergencies only. So when Christmas came around, it was the perfect excuse to go to the mall because I had so many presents that I needed to buy! Lucky for me, that night I went home with bags upon bags, all for... myself. That's right. A Christmas shopping trip for family and friends became a personal one real fast when I saw sale signs left and right. The excitement in me couldn't be contained, hence the need for this haul post. Let's start.

I can't say I have one particular style that I stick to, but when it comes to buying clothing, there are definitely a handful of stores that my heart and wallet are loyally devoted to. When I saw one of my favourite stores having a sale up to 50%, and an additional 30% on everything in the store, (minus the new stuff) I just couldn't say no.

Featured in the above picture are some of my absolute favourite purchases of the year from Scotch & Soda, the Amsterdam-based fashion brand that I wholly worship. On the right is my Combo X (that's what they call the floral print) Quilted Bomber Jacket, in the middle is my Grey Mel Sweat Biker Jacket, and last but not least is my Black Biker Jogger Pants. Let me admit that I cheated and wrapped up the bomber jacket in Christmas paper as a gift for my mom. But when I handed it to her, I made sure to tell her that we're going to be sharing the jacket. And by sharing, I really meant it's mine

The woolly vest in the middle is from Aritzia. The Wilfred Chatou Vest immediately called out my name when I walked into the store. I didn't have anything like it, and I was dying to have it. It's so beautifully soft and plush, perfect for layering, and has an inner luxe satin lining. I've wore it several times already and every single time people have commented on how amazing it is. Was it worth the money? Oh yeah, baby, oh yeah.

And lastly is my pair of cream ankle boots from ALDO. I've been looking for ankle boots for a while and I really like the colour of this one because it can be easily paired with a variety of outfits and colours. On top of that, as a lover of gold, the chain around the back just added the extra oomph that convinced me I needed to bring it home with me.

This is actually a birthday gift but I really wanted to share this camera! All pictures taken in this post was with this Sony a5000. Since I'm going to South Korea in three weeks, I really wanted to find a nice camera to use instead of lugging around a heavy DSLR, and then wala! This camera appeared. It's compact, lightweight, and has interchangeable lens. From what I know, it wasn't expensive (~$350 on sale) and it comes in black and white. Originally I was gifted the black, but I couldn't stop drooling over the white one so I went to the Sony store (the black one was bought at Walmart) and Santa came early because there was ONE white camera left in stock!

This is also a random gift! Recently I've been getting more into heels and wedges, probably because I'm looking for some variety in my shoe collection. I used to hate wedges, but one time I bought a white Michael Kors sneaker wedge and it was just so comfy that I have now opened up my collection to wedges. Not to mention the extra couple of inches that gets added to my non-existent height. It doesn't show very well in the picture, but it's actually a 2.5 inch wedge; not too high and not too short. I can easily wear this with jeans or leggings, or even the pair of biker pants I bought from above! It looks black, but it's actually dark navy and I'm excited to wear this for the first time!

A new wallet for myself! It's a slim bifold wallet from Marc by Marc Jacobs that features the new cosmic design. The snap closure is much more convenient than the zippy wallets I've been using so it's a refreshing change! There are eight card slots on the inside, an open ID window, two bill pockets and a zip coin compartment. Made with PVC, it is very durable and extra pretty! I'm definitely in love with this wallet.

This is eos' Limited Edition: A Ray of Holiday Sunshine inspired by Rachel Roy, sunsets, and travel. This set includes Aloha Hawaii Strawberry Kiwi, St. Barth's Sunrise Pink Grapefruit, and Indian Summer Orange Blossom. So far I've used the strawberry kiwi one and it did not disappoint! If anybody is looking for a lip balm, consider eos because they're packed with natural lip conditioning oils and shea butter that leaves the lips soft and smooth. Yummy.

Next up are a few things that entertain the inner Disney Princess that I am. Every single time I grace the mall with my presence, I never fail to pay a nice childish visit to the local Disney store. Being in that store is like being in the happiest place on Earth and I can't help but smile (all the staff in there say "have a magical day!" Just how cute is that?!). Of course, it's minuscule compared to the real Disney World, but it's the closest thing I got here.

Every once in a while the store will have a sale (this one being pre-Christmas and Boxing week sale) and their cups will always go down to $10 each instead of the usual $15/16. As an avid collector, I have a stash of Disney cups hidden away in a cupboard ready to be used when I move into my own home. So it's safe to say I purchased myself some new cups. First we have the super adorable Pluto and Mickey cereal bowl sized cups, and second, we have the famous Stormtrooper and R2D2. For those that do not know these two, you can kindly educate yourselves!

And finally, VINYLMATIONS! My addiction to Vinyls started a few years back during a trip to Disney World. Since then, my collection has gone from a handful to a drawer-full to a few shelves full. Some people may see the pointlessness of collecting these figures, but to me, it's like the straw to my berry. The first picture is the collection from the very classic Christmas Carol. We have Ebenezer Scrooge, and Pete as Ghost of Christmas Future. There's a total of 12 in the tray, and I only have 2 so far. They sell at $14.95 here in Canada, which is a little pricey, but I'm willing to go the distance for my love.

The second picture is of Disney's new movie Big Hero 6. I saw it on the big screen a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it. It was heart warming, laugh out loud funny, and it miraculously ripped my heart out a few times as well. Now, my Vinylmation collecting has been out on the back burner lately, but there was no way I could miss out on a whole set of Marvel-inspired figures. All at once I scooped up four blind boxes and had my heart set on getting Nurse Baymax. While I didn't, I got Fred, Go Go Tomago, Wasabi no Ginger, and Armoured Baymax which is just as awesome. But for sure my collection doesn't end here, because I intend on collecting all 8 of the tray, including the uber rare chaser!

Was that nerdy, or was that nerdy?
